"Watchful waiting" good for low-grade prostate cancers

The study of 452 men took place over 14 years and found that men with low-grade, slow-growing prostate cancer who were managed with 'watchful waiting' had a 10-year cancer-related actuarial survival rate of more than 97%, and an overall survival rate of almost 80%.

While 30% of the participants had cancers that were reclassified as higher risk, 70% did not require treatment.
